I don’t know what was brighter during this session – the autumn colors or this family’s love for each other! The Maddy family flew all the way from Florida to catch Utah’s fall. Kendal and I go way back to when we used to work together in healthcare.. She has since moved away but comes back to Utah a couple times a year to visit family. During her visit last year, we were able to meet up for the most stunning and intimate mommy-and-me maternity session (You can see more of that here and here). It was so fun to be able to capture baby Emery earthside during this visit. She has the sweetest connection with big brother Miller, who is equally as obsessed with little sis. Miller is the epitome of toddler energy (which, I secretly wish I could put in pill form and pop every morning)! My sessions are always child-lead, which basically means we take our cues from the kids. When they need a break, we take a break. Or, in this instance, when they have energy to run and play and swing and climb, well, I’m right there to capture it all! So.Much.Fun!!!!!

The thing I appreciate about working with Kendal is her complete trust in the creative process. She’s always up for my wild ideas and capturing her with her kids is such a tender experience. She shows up with an open heart and just loves on her family. A dream, honestly! And I haven’t even touched on dad (Austin). He showed up just as open-minded and willing to play and have fun with his crew. Their session exudes love, energy, and connection. And from this side of the lens, I couldn’t ask for anything more. I just have so much love for all my families who are willing to show up and go with the flow!
